While Jane Austen’s sister Cassandra famously burned most of Jane’s correspondence after Jane’s death, 160 letters still survive. Join JASNA-NJ on 2/22 @ 2pm on Zoom for a discussion of Jane’s remaining letters. Click here to register.

Although the collection is not complete, the remaining letters still provide insight into Austen’s wit, character, biography, and above all her literary composition. Or, as the Amazon blurb for Deirdre Le Faye’s annotated edition states: “Most important, we recognize the unmistakable voice of the author of such novels as Pride and Prejudice and Emma.”
As well as in book form, Austen’s letters are also available for free online at Project Gutenberg.
Bring questions, thoughts, insights you gleaned, and any favorite quotes you’d like to share to the meeting!
