This past weekend I was at New York Comic Con. It was a great time and I even got to talk about Jane Austen fandom while I was there. There are publishers there of all sizes so books we’ve already have posted about are all on display and ready for people to buy.
We’ve posted in the past about Marvel Comics project of turning Jane’s stories in comics, and I’ve read a few of them and have enjoyed their interpretations. I believe they have done Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Emma, and Northanger Abbey.
I’ve enjoyed the art of these books, but it has a kind of classic comic book feel to them. I’m always on the lookout for something different and I found it this weekend.
I came across a booth for Camp Fire Graphic Novels. The first thing that caught my eye was their art. As I browsed their titles I noticed a lot of classic titles on display. Picking up a few and reading some pages, they stick really close the stories. I started to look for one to purchase so I could see just how well they did justice to an original. Then I found it!
