#AustenInAugustRBR – Book Review: Fall for You by Cecilia Gray

Fall For You (The Jane Austen Academy Series)Fall For You by Cecilia Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 1 in the Jane Austen Academy series.  This book is like an abridged version Pride and Prejudice set at an (former) all girls school. Added to the series is a mix of all six novels.

We’ve met the first four ladies – Lizzie, Ellie, Emma, and Anne. The former all girls school went though a drastic change over the summer and the year isn’t starting off how any of them planned.  Lizzie and Ellie aren’t rooming together. Lizzie has been forced to room with Anne and work together (they’ve kind of been blackmailed by the new headmistress). Along the way the girls are forced together with the boys, Dante, Rick, and Edward.  Dante is also looking out for his younger sister.  Rick and Anne are avoiding each other and Ellie and Edward are getting their flirt on.

One thing I like, while following the plot of P&P changes are made as to not completely follow the plot of the story.  While there is a Wickham character he is only discussed in flashbacks.  Instead of breaking up Jane and Bingley, Dante warns Rick about starting back up with Anne. The story lines seem to be formed to be playing off each other instead of separately in each book.

I’d suggest this book if you’re into reading YA (so any age group!).

Next up is Pride, Prejudice and Popcorn: TV and Film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and Jane Eyre by Carrie Sessarego
