How did you become a Janeite? Booze and Darcy’s white shirt late one night in college lead me to make life altering choices. I liked the tv adaptation so much that I began reading the novels. Then I found out about JASNA, and the rest is history. Amazing group of people talking about Jane Austen, her novels, and all things Regency, and we dress up sometimes, what could be better?
Favorite Jane Austen Novel? Persuasion
Favorite Character? Mr. Woodhouse, because really, who doesn’t love cake? Seriously through, Ann Elliot. I think I see a lot of myself in her and she gets a second chance at happiness.
Favorite Movie Adaptation? The story telling and actors in the Ehle/Firth version of P&P is a great adaptation. From a cinematography and sound track perspective, I love the Keira Knightly version of P&P.
Any Sequels or Adaptations you enjoy? I separate out the adaptations from the originals, and just try to think of them as in the realm of Regency, and so my list is long of books that I have enjoyed.
Anything else you want to share? CNJ JASNA is a great group of dedicated readers of Jane Austen. I’m glad we have so much fun when we’re together, whether it’s a field trip or a book discussion.
