Do you like to experience the world of Jane Austen through an amateur theatrical lens? Have you ever wanted to take to a virtual stage with your fellow Janeites? If your answer to either of these questions is “yes,” you will love Jane Austen Mystery Theater!

Join us for this special JASNA Easter PA Teatime Event as our Region’s board members team up with intrepid attendee volunteers and read through several Jane Austen-inspired plays. (When we say, “read through,” what we really hope is that each thespian will enthusiastically act out their scripts… the more outrageously the better.)

What is the “mystery” part of the event? The mystery is that only the volunteer participants will know which play and character they are acting out. They will receive the scripts ahead of time to review, but, largely, they will be going into this cold. No practices. No warmups. Just a thrilling (and hopefully hilarious) one-take live event! Even if you do not want to flex your acting chops, you will want to join us to cheer on your fellow Janeites.

To register for this FREE event, please complete this form. Please note that the listed time is Eastern Time.

When you register, you will be asked if you would like to be one of the courageous thespian volunteers. Answer “yes” only if you are willing to have a lot of fun! We are looking for about 12 volunteers to help us act out the plays. So, if you really want to be part of our company of palyers, register early! Please not that, as a volunteer, you will be asked to perform a reading on camera with your fellow actors. Your party may be for a female or male character, and you may costume yourself if you would like to do so, but it is not required. If you do decide to dress for the part, remember you will only be visible from the torso up.
