Despite all the jokes about Austen vs. Bronte lovers, many Austen fans do love a good Jane Eyre adaptation.
For Janeites in the Philadelphia-centric area, The Philadelphia Artists’ Collective offers a world premiere adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s JANE EYRE running from May 11th to May 28th at Christ Church Neighborhood House. Tickets can be purchased here. The production is co-written by KC MacMillan, one of the cohosts from the Austen Mondays show. Austen Mondays has generously offered a $5 discount (Code: THORNFIELD) for all tickets.

For Janeites in the New York area, Mr. Wickham is coming to town! Yes, Adrian Lukis (Mr. Wickham of the 1995 Pride & Prejudice) is starring in a one-man show entitled BEING MR.WICKHAM,, running from May 25 to June 11, 2023 at 59E59. Ticket information available here.
And finally, for those who aren’t able to attend either theatrical production, JASNA-NJ member Betti Barrows recommends Dr. Octavia Cox’s lectures on YouTube, most recently this one on Mary Bennet.
Happy theater-going, Janeites, and hurry to buy your tickets before Fanny Price and Edmund Bertram run in to give you disapproving looks!
