Join JASNA-NJ for a discussion of The Regency Years by Robert Morrison

Join JASNA-NJ on Saturday, September 17 at 2:00 PM for what promises to be a fun and eye-opening presentation and live Q&A with author Robert Morrison on his book The Regency Years: During Which Jane Austen Writes, Napoleon Fights, Byron Makes Love, and Britain Becomes Modern.

Morrison was a finalist for the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, is Queen’s National Scholar at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and lives in Brewer’s Mills, Ontario.

Recently, a very insightful piece on The Regency Years: During Which Jane Austen Writes, Napoleon Fights, Byron Makes Love, and Britain Becomes Modern was featured on The Austen Connection blog here.

The Regency (technically when Prince of Wales assumed the formal duties of mad George III) was brief in years but was a time of great social change, encompassing the flourishing of Romanticism, the Napoleonic Wars, the beginnings of Britain’s empire, and a demand for a more equitable society. It was far, far more than bonnets and tea!

To join JASNA-NJ on Saturday, September 17, please register here.  We look forward to seeing you there! Until then, bone up on your Byron!
